Salary

Breakdown & Mode of Payment

Your pay is processed on a monthly cycle.

This cycle starts from the 19th of the previous month to the 20th of the current month.

Payday is the 27th of every month or the preceding Friday if it falls on a weekend.

If there is an unforeseen delay in paying your salary on time, our People Operations team will keep you informed.

All payments are made via bank transfer into a company-approved commercial bank account (not digital banks).

Payslip

Payslip breaks down your monthly compensation and all statutory deductions.

It is sent to your Hugo email on the 27th of each month.

Payslip errors can be rectified by contacting finance-ng_@people@hugotech.co

You can expect to receive feedback within 24 hours. All corrections will happen in the next salary cycle.

Statutory Deductions

Statutory Deduction covers areas such as: Pay AS You Earn (PAYE) and Pension Contributions.

Pay As You Earn:

Personal Income Tax is based on approved rates defined by the Personal Income Tax Act.

For the rates, kindly reach out to your Local Tax office for details

Pension:

Both you and Hugo contribute a percentage of your monthly salary into a pension fund as stated in the Pension Reform Act 2014.

  • We boost your RSA with mandatory contributions, enhancing your financial future.

  • Your RSA stays with you, no matter where your career takes you.

  • At retirement, choose a payment structure that suits your needs.

Additional (Mandatory) Contributions

Hugo contributes to the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and

Industrial Training Fund (ITF).

NSITF (Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund) is governed by The EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION ACT, 2010, ACT 73 OF 1993.

The Employee Compensation Act aims to create and maintain a solvent fund — managed in the interest of the employer and employees — that fairly compensates employees and their families for work-related injuries, disabilities, or death.
