Breakdown & Mode of Payment
Your pay is processed on a monthly cycle.
This cycle starts from the 19th of the previous month to the 20th of the current month.
Payday is the 27th of every month or the preceding Friday if it falls on a weekend.
If there is an unforeseen delay in paying your salary on time, our People Operations team will keep you informed.
All payments are made via bank transfer into a company-approved commercial bank account (not digital banks).
Payslip
Payslip breaks down your monthly compensation and all statutory deductions.
It is sent to your Hugo email on the 27th of each month.
Payslip errors can be rectified by contacting finance-ng_@people@hugotech.co
You can expect to receive feedback within 24 hours. All corrections will happen in the next salary cycle.

Contributions & Accessibility
Hugo contributes a percentage of your salary to your Pension Retirement Savings Account (RSA).
We boost your RSA with mandatory contributions, enhancing your financial future.
Your RSA stays with you, no matter where your career takes you.
At retirement, choose a payment structure that suits your needs.
Additional (Mandatory) Contributions
Hugo contributes to the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and
Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
NSITF (Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund) is governed by The EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION ACT, 2010, ACT 73 OF 1993.
The Employee Compensation Act aims to create and maintain a solvent fund — managed in the interest of the employer and employees — that fairly compensates employees and their families for work-related injuries, disabilities, or death.
Approval & Pay
From time to time, we approve overtime beyond your regular work hours, but we ensure you do not miss out on your weekly day off.
Overtime approval needs to be obtained from your Line Manager and Vertical Lead.
Approved overtime pay is credited to your account by the 7th of the next month.
Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO)
Routine check-ups, specialist care, surgery, and prescriptions.
Check out your plan's benefits (view here).
Authorised medical service providers (find here).
Group Life Insurance
This is an insurance policy that covers death due to sickness, natural causes, or accidents during employment.
Pays three times the employee's total annual pay, divided among beneficiaries.
Only full-time or fixed-term employees are eligible.
This policy is only valid while employed at Hugo and no longer applies once you leave the job.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Covers for any personal challenges or job-related stressors.
For coaching, counselling, or any mental health concerns, send an email to wellbeing@hugotech.co.
You can also reach out to one of our EAP coaches on Slack to schedule a session.
